hyderabad:the bharatiya janata party will devise a poll strategy to cut into the vote bank of majlis-e-ittehadul muslimeen in the ensuing elections to the municipal corporation of hyderabad. various welfare schemes launched by the central government for the uplift of minorities, educational opportunities, socio-economic backwardness and illiteracy among the muslims are some of the issues the bjp intends to highlight during the campaign, particularly in old city.
the bjp also said that the system adopted for reservation of wards was irrational. specific guidelines should be framed and followed on this issue, chintala ramachandra reddy, the bjp city unit president told the times of india. he said every muslim youth has an opportunity for good education in this country. but all these years they were being mislead by their own leadership and parties like mim were misguiding the youth for their own political ends in the name of religion. what does the muslim youth in india have to do with israel, afghanistan or iraq? they should concentrate on their future taking advantage of the opportunities provided by the government, he said. the bjp has identified the active party workers and formed booth-level committees and division-level committees.the activists were asked to highlight the welfare schemes such as valmiki ambedkar awas yojana, raja rajeswari, bhagya sri, annapurna, old age pensions, deepam and others. the cadre was also asked to give a patient hearing to the problems such as poor sanitation in slums, inadequate drinking water supply, poor roads and absence of streetlights. only the bjp can bring togetherness among the people. we can convince the public. this was why the tdp left the two city parliamentary constituencies to us in the last lok sabha elections, ramachandra reddy pointed out. referring to the trs and tss, the bjp leader said both the parties lacked commitment and people were aware of their designs. both k chandrasekhar rao and a narendra lacked political awareness and were only trying to gain power by exploiting the telangana sentiment, he said.
